Free Demo for Canvas

The Canvas software is a post processing tool for easy and fast visualization of 1-d simulation results. The basic concept is to arrange numerical result values on a selectable background image. That enables the user to generate analyzing figures with self designed background pictures in an efficient way.

The demo software for Windows operating systems is available for free.

Proceed to download page.

Specification:

  • Canvas Demo has a life-time-license and all features of the full version with some exceptions
  • Limitations are the number of displays (max. 5) and the number of results files (max. 2)

Free Demo for ModelOpt

XRG ModelOpt

ModelOpt is a an optimization application for minimizing cost functions or deviations from a design or measurement value. It uses Dymola/Modelica for modeling and target function definition as well as for simulation (from version Dymola 6.1 to the latest version). A simple and intuitive graphical user interface guides the user step by step through an optimization project.

The demo software for Windows operating systems is available for free.

Proceed to download page.

Specification:

  • ModelOpt Demo has a life-time-license and all features of the full version with some exceptions
  • Limitations are the number of iteration steps of the optimizer (max. 40), the number of tuner parameters (max. 2), the number of batch cases (max. 3).
  • Furthermore, only two optimization schemes are provided: Nelder-Mead and Direct.

Talk on Power Plant Symposium in Toulouse, Sep., Sep. 2nd to 5th

Power Plant and Power System Control Symposium in ToulousePower Plant and Power System Control Symposium in Toulouse

The scientific symposium Power Plant and Power System Control is a three-anual meeting on the control of power plants and energy systems of any kind. This year's 8th symposium will by organised by the International Federation of Automatic Control from September, 2nd to 5h in Toulouse, France. The preliminary program promises very interesting talks about control of power plant components and power electronics as well as about smart grid applications. The XRG team will be present at the symposium giving a talk on the following issue:

  • Dr. Gottelt: "Unified Control Scheme for Coal-Fired Power Plants with Integrated Post Combustion CO2 Capture", Mo., Sep., 3rd, 18:25 in room C002

We look forward to meeting you!

Visit our booth at the Modelica Conference in Munich Sep., 3rd to 5th

ModelicaConferenceMunich20129th International Modelica Conference in Munich

XRG Simulation will present the most recent product developments and research results at the upcoming 9th International Modelica Conference in Munich from Sep. 3rd to 5th. You are invited to visit our booth in the conference exhibition area where we will give you insight into our interesting simulation products, services and research projects covering the whole range of energy engineering. Experience the new XRGApplication products which help to conduct your simulation tasks efficiently:

  • ModelOpt - The XRGApplication for Mathematical Parameter Optimization of Modelica Models (e.g., for minimizing cost functions or deviations from measurement data)
  • Canvas - Post-Processing and Visualization of 1D Simulation Results (for creation of display sheets on own background images. e.g. schematic plant diagrams)

Our well-known Modelica libraries are:

  • HumanComfort Library - Professional Evaluation and Visualization of Thermal Comfort in Buildings and Vehicles
Please also consider the oral presentation of Dr. Wischhusen about thermal modelling of vehicles (see below)
  • Hydronics Library - Detailed Modelling of Thermo-hydraulic Systems (e.g., engine or battery cooling)
  • FluidDissipation Library - Award-winning, free Modelica library for Modelling of Pressure Loss and Convective Heat Transfer
  • XRG Media Library - Fluid property library for media used in Refrigeration and Heat Pump applications (R134a, R1234yf, NH3, CO2)

Furthermore, we would like to kindly invite you to the talks of our colleagues:

  • Dr. Brunnemann: "Status of ClaRaCCS: Modelling and Simulation of Coal Fired Power Plants with CO2 Capture", Wed., Sep., 5th at 10:40 in the room "Seminarraum S1"
  • Dr. Wischhusen: "Modelling and Calibration of a Thermal Model for an Automotive Cabin using HumanComfort Library", Tue., Sep., 4th at 13:35 in the room "Saeulensaal"

We are looking forward to meeting you!

Success for XRG Triathlon Teams

XRG Triathlon TeamXRG Triathlon Relay Olympic Distance - from left: Lars Bröhan (Bike), Sven Rutkowski (Swim), Friedrich Gottelt (Run)

This weekend Hamburg was again hosting the ITU Triathlon World Championship with some thousands of participants. For the second time XRG Simulation took part with two relay teams, both lead by Sven Rutkowksi. The result was big success: Over the sprint distance Sven Rutkowski, Walter Kraft and Stefan Wischhusen yielded an overwhelming 9th place in the field of 69 company teams (place 31 of all 193 teams).

On sunday followed the relay over the olympic distance which ended up also with a very good result: place 27 of 107 company teams (place 57 of 261 total teams) for Sven Rutkowski, Lars Bröhan and Friedrich Gottelt.
